Concept Design Development

After the concept presentation we resolved our bike design. It is a tubular frame construction with a unique plastic covering which adds style and also protects internal components for better durability in the public domain. The belt drive system is also covered by a plastic component, and there is a 3 speed gear hub.




The bike dock enables the helmet to be locked with the bike, as it sits in the front basket which is completely enclosed by the dock. This prevents the need for a helmet vending booth or the need for another locking system just for the helmet as seen with our previous concept designs.



We will develop our design further to include possible plastic wheel inserts instead of spokes, back pedal brakes instead of hand brakes (or possibly both), and matching our rental machine styling with the bike and dock.
